A Little Piece

The smell of warm, fresh cut leaves. In the middle of Brooklyn, One can find himself closed up by his small apartment. With such little space for planting and expressing you have to do with what you have. My mother lived here all her life in the gentrifying neighborhood of bushwick, surrounded by plants and flowers.

Managing to take control of the little space she has to plant something can help anyone mentally and emotionally. Decorating around it and making your front "Stoop" as we call it in the hood, beautiful.

She plants near the windows. Paints the walls a lighter color. Whites will make your apartment appear more prominent and more relaxing.

She helped the block look greener, by motivating others on the street to plant on their front gate.

In that environment, she managed to take control of what she has and making the best of it, making it more beautiful as she went.
